All good
Pick up and drop points were all good and the ferry is an easy and cheap way to cross. Takes about 1hr 30mins but composted to arriving at an airport with queues etc. it wins if you’re travelling Thailand
Value for money
The ferries are vessels which can take both vehicles and passengers, while the fast ferries (or catamarans) are considered to be the vessels that are only used for the passenger transportation.
The majority of car ferries do accept the pets on board, but they of course need to have adequate accessories such as a muzzle or a leash if you’re taking your dog with you, or appropriate transport bags for smaller pets and animals. The most important thing however is that they do not pose a disturbance to other passengers on the boat.
There are no additional fees for the luggage storage on the vessels given the fact you bring them with you to the passenger lounge. However, it is important to pay attention to the size of the items of course, and to make sure that you report any unusually large items that you’re going to take with you on board of the boats.
All the vessels provide the passengers with Wi-Fi, but of course, the reach of the Wi-Fi is limited especially when you find yourself a bit further away from the mainland where the reception might not be as good.
In most cases, it is unfortunately not possible to bring your bicycle on board of a fast ferry. There are some exceptions and cases in which it is allowed to do so, but only if the bike is folded and packed. We recommend contacting directly the company in question to confirm whether or not it is allowed to bring it with you on that specific ferry line.
If it is necessary to print out the tickets for the departures you’re attending, that information will be explicitly stated during your purchase process, and of course in the email in which you receive your tickets and boarding information. Of course, there are also M-ticket departures which allow you to just download the ticket on your phone and then show it to the crew who will scan it.
