Frequently asked questions
Why do I have to enter my E-mail Address?
After having purchased the ticket on GetByFerry, you receive a ticket email containing your tickets and boarding information. Furthermore, your email address is required for us to be able to inform you about a possible departure schedule change or cancellation.
Do I have to print my ticket?
During the ticket purchase process, you’ll be able to see which routes are M-ticket friendly and which ones require you to print your ticket out. The ones for which you can just show the ticket on your phone will have an icon of the mobile phone right next to the button for buying the ticket.
What type of ticket can I buy on GetByFerry.com?
For the moment, it is only possible to purchase passenger tickets, and the tickets for your vehicles are not yet available. However, we are working on further improvements and it will be possible to purchase tickets for the vehicles too in the near future.
Why can I not buy a ticket for some routes?
Although we are constantly working on expanding our offer, some ferry companies still do not want to have their tickets sold online. However - when browsing through the available departures on our website, you will be able to select the option of wanting to be informed when a certain departure becomes available online, and we will inform you via email as soon as the sale starts.
I completed the payment module, but haven’t received a ticket showing my transaction was successful. What should I do now?
There are several scenarios that might have happened during your purchase. It’s possible that your ticket was successfully created, but the ticket email ended up in your spam folder or you entered the wrong email address during your purchase. It is also possible that the money was taken from your account (or was pre-authorized), but a ticket wasn’t generated immediately - so we would kindly ask you to contact our customer support team that will investigate this matter thoroughly and get back to you regarding the status of your transaction.
Can I rebook my ticket?
Depending on the ferry company operating the route, you are able to rebook your tickets up to 24 hours prior to the departure time stated on your ticket. However, some companies do not allow the ticket rebooking, and that is going to be stated during the purchase process where you would have to accept the terms and conditions of both our company and the partner company operating the route.
Can I cancel my ferry ticket before travel?
The ticket cancellation is again dependent on the ferry company operating the route. Some of them do allow the cancellation, while others don’t. Therefore, pay attention to the terms and conditions stated during the ticket purchase since they are going to indicate whether a ticket is refundable or not, and of course you can feel free to contact our customer support team and they will provide you with all the information regarding your tickets.
How can I know which dock my ferry’s gonna be at?
While the majority of the ferries have regular docks they embark at, changes are possible on a daily basis, and that’s why the best thing to do would be to get to the designated ferry port of your departure at least 45 minutes before the scheduled ferry departure and ask the ferry port employees about the exact pier your ferry departs from on your travel date.
Do I need to reserve my seat on the ferry?
Seat reservations are not necessary on the ferries given the fact there are enough seats for all the passengers boarding the ship.
How much luggage can I bring?
There are no limitations on the number of luggage you can carry with you on the ferry, given the fact it is quite spacious. However, when it comes to the fast ferries the situation is slightly different and there you can have up to 20 kg of luggage.
Can I bring my bicycle to a fast ferry?
Generally the answer is no, but there are exceptions where you can bring a bike on board, however, in that case the bicycle needs to be folded and boxed. Of course, you would have to ask the company employees about the price of the bicycle transportation given the fact additional charges might be applied.
Are pets allowed on board?
Dogs, cats, birds and other small animals are allowed on board, but should not pose a risk or cause a disturbance to other passengers or the ship.
Dogs have to wear a muzzle on the ship (with the exception of assistance dogs) and be kept on a leash.
Small pets may be transported in lounges on fast routes, specifically in transport bags for pets.
Are there any group discounts available?
Unfortunately, group discounts are not available for the majority of departures. If they are by any chance, you would see that indicated on the check order screen for the individual departures that you’ve selected on our website.
Are there any online booking fees?
The exact amount of the booking fee will depend on the ticket you are purchasing, but it will be clearly indicated on the check order screen during the purchase process and on your ticket receipt as well.
Are kids allowed to travel on their own?
Children under 12 years of age are not allowed to travel unaccompanied. You can only buy a child ticket when purchasing an adult one.
I lost my ticket, can I have a duplicate?
Other than receiving the ticket purchased on GetByFerry via email, you can always find them when signing in to your account at the top right corner, under the “My Tickets” section. There you’ll find your ticket copy, boarding information and a receipt for your purchase.
